The Southampton Clinical Trials Unit (SCTU) is a UKCRC registered CTU based at Southampton University Hospitals NHS Trust, with expertise in the design, conduct and analysis of multi-centre, interventional clinical trials. We work in partnership with investigators to deliver high quality trials, which directly influence routine clinical practice. SCTU is core-funded by Cancer Research UK (CRUK) together with funding from the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) via the Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) and Research Support Service (RSS).We have a vacancy for a Senior Clinical Trials Data Manager to join the Data Management team at SCTU. This role is responsible for leading, planning and execution of all data management activities for assigned projects, in accordance with SCTU processes and regulatory standards.The employing organisation is the University of Southampton which offers a competitive salary, pension scheme and other benefits. The post is offered on a two year fixed term contract in the first instance with the possibility of an extension. SCTU offer the option to be fully office based at Southampton General Hospital, or a hybrid work arrangement with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office if full time.Key Responsibilities:
- Project manage the delivery of day-to-day data management activities, from study start up through final database lock (as required), across multiple projects.
- Manage the allocation of data management resources across clinical portfolios.
- Support standardisation of processes across the data management function.
- Participate in / lead the development, review and implementation of processes, policies, SOPs/WPDs and associated documents affecting DM.
- Line manage Data Management staff
- Coach peers and contribute to peer evaluation, selection and orientation.
This role would suit candidates that have:
- Demonstratable skills in Clinical Data Management (such as database design and build, user acceptance testing, conduct and close-out)
- Knowledge of electronic data collection tools, such as Medidata Rave EDC, or related technologies.
- Excellent organisation skills and an ability to prioritise effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and can work collaboratively.
- Good IT skills and are competent in using Microsoft Office.
The position is available on a fixed term contract for 24 months in the first instance. The salary offered within the range will depend on experience.
