You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.How you’ll succeedSettlement Operations – Manage all operational aspects of Accounts Payable, Fixed Asset Management, Expense Reimbursement, Supplier Onboarding and Commercial Cards, for all CIBC Lines Of Business in Canada, U.S. and select Regions. Manage payment escalations, investigations and ownership of CIBC’s Fixed Asset sub-ledger. Accountable for the Bank’s Employee Expense Reimbursement, Spend Authorization, and Fixed Asset Management policies. Accountable for the governance and relationship management with key external stakeholders including BPO resourcesGeneral Accounting – Support the financial statement close process through the collection, creation and uploading of journal entries received from business partners. Ensure the integrity of general ledger, prepare financial reports, financial statement notes and develop and maintain appropriate internal controls. Review and approve accounting entries, including self-assessment of commodity taxes, accruals, prepaid expense drawdowns and allocations between lines of business and/or legal entities. Lead and coordinate the analysis of monthly financial results and variances, identifying contributing factors, issues and opportunities causing variances and trendsManagement Reporting – Increase the capability and adoption of self-service reporting, resulting in streamlined and less manual processes by business users. Implement process improvements through standardization, rationalization and utilization of best practices. Lead and maintain operations and service levels of the Management Reporting teamLeadership – Provide leadership and effective management of business unit staff to influence employee commitment to the organization by leading continuous process improvement through standardization and automation, with the goal to improve efficiency and reduce redundancy across all areas of responsibility. In addition, focus on building team and individual capabilities and managing performance by providing formal and informal feedback, and identifying and removing obstacles to performance.Who you areYou can demonstrate a minimum of 10 years of work experience in accounting, management reporting, settlement operations or related areas. You have knowledge of business process design that encourages a critical, fresh look at key processes and focuses on optimizing organizational performance, and can lead the design and implementation of business process methods and tools. In addition, you have the ability to measure the quality and quantity of work effort for the purpose of improvement, and work to create a climate in which measurement of effectiveness is a standard practice. Further, you have experience with monitoring, updating, or enhancing existing business or work process, and have created mechanisms (including Time Capture) for regular process reviews and continuous process improvement. It is an asset if you have a professional accounting designation and/or MBA.You give meaning to data. You enjoy investigating complex problems and making sense of information.
