Job Summary The incumbent will be responsible for elevating our risk reporting across regions and entities, with a team to support enhancement, design, and generation of internal regional risk reporting. The team will leverage existing enterprise capabilities to become the reporting “engine” that will provide data and report content/materials to regions and entities for their use in regional/entity senior management and board risk reporting.As the team lead for this group, you will help promote a “Best of Class” risk oversight environment.Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Enterprise Risk Reporting team ensures that RBC’s risk profile is effectively and accurately messaged both internally (to senior management and board committees) and externally (to regulators, investors, etc). This is accomplished through the development and production of a suite of risk reports and presentations, requiring collaboration with subject matter experts across various risk disciplines, and business units/functions across the enterprise.The incumbent will be responsible for elevating our risk reporting across regions and entities, with a team to support enhancement, design, and generation of internal regional risk reporting.   • Lead the team responsible for elevating our risk reporting across regions and entities.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with regional risk teams and the enterprise reporting team
  • Work with regional/entity risk teams to establish reporting requirements and enhancements
  • Leverage enterprise data systems and authorized provisioning points to create risk data sets appropriate/usable for regions and entities.
  • Create, maintain, and execute appropriate controls on the data.
  • Create enhanced and net-new reporting and deliver to regions and entities, as required.
  • Automate existing regional reporting.

What do you need to succeed?Must-have

  • 10+ years in banking (in risk management), preferably with Enterprise Risk experience, or experience within a credit, or market risk reporting team.
  • Experience dealing with regulators and auditors (internal and external)
  • Strong communication skills, both written (including report building / story telling in Power Point) and verbal
  • Strong aptitude for paying attention to details
  • Proven ability to motivate a team
  • Experienced in managing complex stakeholder relationships. Well-developed (demonstrated) leadership and relationship competencies with the ability to work cross-enterprise to drive initiatives forward
  • Comfortable challenging the nature and quality of reports provided by colleagues throughout RBC. Superior impact and influence skills.
  • Undergrad level degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, or quantitative major (math, engineering, etc.)

Nice-to-have

  • CFA, FRM or professional designations.
