We are a small and friendly team handling a high volume of submissions while priding ourselves on offering a personalised service to the researchers who publish with us.About the RoleThe Lancet Regional Health – Europe is an Open Access journal under The Lancet’s global health initiative. It focuses on improving healthcare quality and access globally. You’ll work with Senior Editors and the Editor-in-Chief on journal preparation. You’ll also collaborate with authors and various editorial teams.ResponsibilitiesContributing critically to the selection of the journal content.Identifying experts to act as peer reviewers on selected submissions.Writing editorials, organizing peer review of research articles and reviews, and conducting webinars and podcasts with authors and key opinion leaders.Commissioning content to build our journal’s profile among the communities we serve and handling special project content (e.g. Series and Commissions) as necessary.Developing and maintaining links with the regional health community to solicit high-quality research and thought leadership for the journal.Attending conferences and events, identifying suitable topics and authors, and keeping up-to-date with current developments in regional health.RequirementsHave relevant qualifications in clinical or biomedical science, public health, global health, or related fields. A medical degree (MD) or a PhD and post-doc research experience in a relevant discipline is an added advantage.Be accustomed to diversity and working globally and can connect with colleagues at all levels of the organization.Demonstrate alignment with the Lancet’s values.Have an unfailingly can-do attitude.Enjoy collaborating with teams to deliver successful projects and initiatives on time.Have a natural ability to engage, influence and build relationships with stakeholders, teams and our community.Work in a way that works for youWe promote a healthy work/life balance across the organisation.
