We are seeking individuals who are passionate about addressing these global challenges and are proactive in finding opportunities to integrate sustainable practices as part their role.As a Senior Environmental Consultant, with expertise in coastal physical processes, hydrodynamics and/or morphodynamics, you will play a key role in the Flood and Coastal Risk Modelling team in the Environmental Services Capability at BMT UK, providing technical expertise, supporting and helping to grow our coastal flood and erosion risk sectors. You will be at the forefront of providing both a global and localised view of physical coastal change, flood and erosion risk and coastal adaptation. With expertise in the analysis of in situ and/or remote Earth observation data, you will provide a valuable contribution to BMT’s focus on providing sustainable and transformative solutions to our clients.In terms of location, we have offices in Bristol, Bath, London among others, and we are happy to explore flexible and hybrid working arrangements. Please note that travel to customer sites or to attend meetings will be required. This role is available part-time or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.About youWe are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and flexible colleagues, who share our values of trust, respect and collaboration. We expect you to share our passion for creating a more environmentally and socially sustainable future for all our stakeholders.You will have experience in the field of coastal sciences, with a background in any of the following specialities (Coastal Physical Processes, Oceanography, Earth Observation/ Remote Sensing, Geomorphology, Engineering/ Physics). Numerically proficient, with experience of working with large data sets, numerical models and the use of programming languages you will provide key technical expertise to a wide range of projects from coastal flood risk and sediment transport modelling to remote sensing and earth observation of coastal morphodynamics.A minimum of 5-years experience (post-degree, in either academia or industry) is required; postgraduate qualifications are preferrable, but not essential. As much of our work is directly customer focused, your effective communication skills and ability to present professionally both verbally and in writing are essential skills for this role.Missing skills?
