In this role you will report to the senior manager of the private equity desk within the accounting group. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.How You’ll SucceedAccounting and Controls – You drive accurate, complete, and timely inputs to the various reporting groups. You have experience working with various teams to build functioning controls and reconciliations. Inspire adherence to timing in Service Level Agreements and support the investigation and analysis of different methodologies by liaising with the Front Office, Corporate Development, CFO group, Accounting Policy, Reporting, Reconciliations, Technology, and Operations teams.Relationship management – You have good communication, teamwork, partnership and relationship building skills sufficient to act in a collaborative manner with team members and stakeholders from different backgrounds and experiences. You will liaise daily with Finance, Front Office and other Capital Markets’ stakeholder groups.Agility – You have an innovative mindset and look for ways to implement enhancements to support agile accounting processes and controls. Ensure changes in accounting policies/requirements are implemented in a controlled manner. Maintain adequate end to end process maps and detailed task manuals in accordance with best practices, regulatory requirements, SOX, and Internal Controls.Who You AreYou understand that success is in the details. You have current accreditation and good standing in CPA/CFA, or working towards your CPA/CFA designation, with 3+ years of relevant work experience. MBA is an asset.You can demonstrate experience in Capital Markets accounting, in order to support the oversight and governance functions. This includes enhancement of financial controls across multiple groups. You have strong knowledge of IFRS and Financial Reporting requirements for Financial Instruments. You understand the investment accounting and NAV valuation of private equity funds or mutual funds, including carried interest, management fees, etc.. You have experience with fund administration activities such as processing capital calls and distributions. You are familiar with advanced Excel functions, such as pivot tables, xlookups, etc. It’s an asset if you have experience in automating manual processes, and you can clearly communicate with different external and internal stakeholders, including executives and auditors.You embrace and champion change.
