About the roleSenior Financial Compliance ManagerLocation: Novartis, Prague, Czech Republic #LI-HybridNovartis is unable to offer relocation support for this role: please only apply if this location is accessible for you.About the Role:The purpose of the Senior Financial Compliance Manager role is to ensure compliance with Internal Control over Financial Reporting standards and regulations (i.e., SOX) by developing and directing on ICFR methodology and strategy, including advisory to Group Management on financial risks and compliance related topics.
This includes to oversee development, design, and implementation of financial controls in the Novartis Financial Controls Manual (NFCM), provide high quality support and advise to all Novartis functions and affiliates related to financial compliance matters as well as leading / contributing to projects related to Financial Risk and Compliance topics.Key Responsibilities:Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Ensure ICFR methodology and strategy is adequately defined, communicated and implemented across the entire Novartis Group to comply with legal requirements (i.e., Sarbanes-Oxley Act – SOX)
- Ensure that all the necessary internal financial controls are adequately designed, communicated and implemented by driving the development of a high-quality internal control framework, identifying and addressing risks while balancing efficiency and effectiveness and driving control automation
- Lead change management activities related to ICFR methodology implementation and enhancement, including training, communication and monitoring
- Develop training concepts, content and methods (i.e., remote/F2F/eLearning) and conduct trainings for second line compliance functions on ICFR related topics
- Contribute to the implementation of new ICFR related applications, i.e., SAP GRC PC
- Provide expertise and advise to all functions and affiliates in their financial risk assessments and support root cause analysis and mitigation strategies
- Leads/participate to projects related to ICFR within Group functions and Business units
- Proactively identify areas for improvement related to financial compliance and develop adequate solutions were appropriate
Role RequirementsEssential Requirements:
- University Degree in Business Administration / Finance / Accounting / Auditing
- Extensive post qualification experience including internal or external audit or advisory (preferable Big 4 firm) focusing on SOX 404 audits
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, capable to understand interdependencies and challenges in a holistic way
- Track record of successfully delivering value and innovation in complex international environments
- Project management skills and international experience, ability to work in remote setup
- Good knowledge of SAP and MS Office
- Very good communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in English both written and spoken
