This will include corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, developing our internal control policies and procedures, and taking responsibility for financial risk management. The role will primarily focus on our UK business but will have significant and growing international dimensions.Reporting directly to the COO, this role will be pivotal for the company to achieve our strategic business goals by driving forward process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy and management of company finances. The successful candidate will have significant experience working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial management is communicated across the business, ideally within a fast-paced or tech environment.The primary responsibilities of this roleWe cannot provide an exhaustive list of duties; additional duties will arise, but the following will be core elements of this role:

  • Manage all accounting operations (we use Xero), including supplier payments, expenses and payroll and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support all required corporate finance or fundraising activity
  • Coordinate the preparation of FCA regulatory reporting
  • Research technical accounting issues for compliance
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Manage and comply with filing tax requirements
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Coordinate and direct the budget preparation and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements, including group consolidated results with international subsidiaries

Essential elements for this roleThese are the skills and qualifications we consider essential for this role:

  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Accounting qualification or equivalent
  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or QBE qualified
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience working in and producing group consolidated accounts with international subsidiaries
  • Demonstrable experience in corporate finance and fundraising, working with investors, and managing due diligence processes
  • Track record of developing and implementing successful financial strategies to drive growth
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience working within a regulated entity (or similar) and the associated reporting requirements
  • Impeccable attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You must be comfortable with working in a fully remote environment
