What will you do?As a Senior Insights & Modelling Analyst, you will be responsible for providing financial analytical support to key clients within the business. Specifically, you will become a significant contributor of actionable insights which will drive strategy, support with tactical initiatives, as well as improve efficiency within the organization. Your analysis and business intelligence tools will help promote and sustain the profitable growth of the business. You are the type of individual who can energize the people around you and inspire fellow employees and shareholders with your natural curiosity and problem-solving ability.Establish a strong understanding of financial and customer related data sources, with emphasis on reconciling database information with business financial statements.Support the development of sound financial models utilizing various data sources. Understand the financial consequences of business decisions to ensure all drivers of performance are reflected in analysis.Support cross functional teams with knowledge of business KPI’s and accounting rules.Monitor key financial drivers of the portfolio and work with internal clients to understand the implications on their business.Extract, manipulate and interpret data to isolate on key trends. Summarize findings into concise and informative reports and presentations, which can be easily interpreted by business partners across the organization.Provide proactive analyses on areas of the business which are influenced by economic/market shifts.You will join an enthusiastic, fast-paced, and dynamic team at Canadian Tire. Sustained exceptional performance, innovation, creativity, insight, good judgment, and attention to detail are daily requirements.What do you bring to the team?3 – 5 years of experience in a medium/large companySound knowledge of financial acumen and accounting policyExperience with financial data and software (PeopleSoft or Hyperion an asset)Strong problem solving, analytical and strategic thinking skills; able to see the “big picture” in a complex business environmentPassion for financial modelling and profitability analysisFlexibility, energy, and ability to work well with others in a team environmentWhat are your skills and experience?University Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or EconomicsCPA designation (CA, CMA, CGA) considered an assetAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel & PowerPointAdvanced knowledge of SQLAdvanced knowledge of data and analytical software (SAS, Python or R) considered an assetExperience in Retail or Banking Industry an asset in any of the following areas: marketing or sales support, operations, financeHow will you create impact?Collaborate across teams to create synergies and support with financial implications.Support Decision Support teams with delivery of financial models.Actively engage with data teams to continuously improve on data mart capabilities.Manage project timelines through effective communication and feedback loops.HybridWe value flexibility.
