  • Lead and mentor a growing team of data analysts and support the growth of our data community, working closely with data analysts across other teams.
  • Produce, interpret, and analyse data across the core pillars of the business (Operations, Commercial and Support Functions) aligned with delivery of the business’s transformation programme, Velocity, providing commentary and business solutions to problems.
  • Identify the critical commercial business questions that need answering through cross-functional collaboration and provide insight and deeper business analytics to help drive action.
  • Communicate insights in a powerful, quantified, and user-friendly way whilst measuring adoption and actions taken.
  • Establish appropriate, trackable KPIs and actionable insights based on sound analytics which can be monitored and used to inform narrative on business performance.
  • Work closely with colleagues across the data community, including Data Governance, Data Modelling, Reporting and Infrastructure teams, improving our data quality and supporting standardised, self-serve reporting developments.
  • Be a resource and advocate for data and insights within the organisation by inspiring, teaching and empowering others to use data. Increase commercial awareness and adoption in the business via training and improving capability.
  • Actively promote the data-led decision-making mindset in the business, increase commercial awareness and adoption in the business via training and improving capability
  • Improve the capability of business stakeholders utilising visualisation tools to enable them to self-serve enhanced analysis and insights.
  • Support Head of Insight and other senior leaders across the business with periodic and ad-hoc analysis including supporting initiatives with our external partners.
  • Act as a key business lead and contact for our external AI partners, in driving further AI-led automation of business processes.
  • Assisting in setting and reporting of appropriate KPIs and targets across commercial and operational teams, with particular focus on areas related to delivery of Velocity.
  • Ad-hoc analysis as required by the business, expanding on the reporting they already receive.
  • Assist in preparation of relevant external reporting including submissions as part of annual reporting, half year and year end external audit and any other external reporting requirements as directed by senior leadership.

What you’ll need:

  • Significant experience in data analysis, with previous management experience preferable
  • Demonstrable strong commercial analysis skills with track record of delivering insights into action.
  • Proficiency with data analytics and statistical analysis tools, such as Python, R and SQL.
  • Experienced in delivering dynamic data visualisation through us of tools such as Power BI.
  • Ability to understand and interrogate data quickly and accurately.
  • Able to assess validity of data and perform root cause analysis, discerning correlation from causation.
  • Understanding how context and outliers affect how results are presented to allow consumers to understand and act quickly.
  • Attention to detail and a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and presentational skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong leadership and team-management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of data analysts.
  • Self-motivated, working independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proven record of meeting deadlines and managing priorities effectively.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Significant experience in data or business analyst roles with demonstrable team management experience preferred.
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
