We are seeking a Senior Interpretation Producer – HEI (History, Equity, and Inclusion) to join Interpretation within the Communications Team.This is an exciting time to join Kew, as we are re-examining the way interpretation is presented across Kew’s landscapes, with a focus on the complexity and authenticity of storytelling surrounding Kew’s heritage and its role in the creation of the modern world.We are looking forward to the renovation of the iconic Palm House, the interpretation of key features in the Kew landscape, such as the Camellia Walk and Rhododendron Dell. We are seeking the continued enrichment of the stories we tell and the ways we share and co-create them. Uncovering the stories of different people who contributed to Kew and voices seldom represented. (PDF, 150.92kb)More detailsThis role requires significant experience in researching and verifying complex historical sources, as well as in writing and producing nuanced content for a range of interpretive interventions. Therefore, it will suit someone with excellent research and writing skills who has a detailed understanding of how-to craft content for different channels, audiences, and reading levels. We are looking for an experienced and passionate public historian or similar with a significant background in interpretation within a cultural setting.This position involves making on-site assessments of current interpretation content, curatorial decisions about the placement of new stories focused on broadening the voices heard within the garden. Strong judgement, interpretation, research, writing, planning, and communication skills are essential for success in this role.The role is based at Kew Gardens, with the option of hybrid working subject to operational requirements.The Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew (RBG Kew) is a leading plant science institute, UNESCO World Heritage Site, and major visitor attraction.
