Our team is focused on digital platforms, creating world-class analytics products.What will you do?Work with a large, global team of developers in the design and build of a next generation valuation and risk infrastructure for the RBC Capital Markets Equity Derivatives businessWork closely with both quants and traders in defining requirements, aligning deliverables, and continually refining code for qualityContribute support and knowledge towards a transition to better DevOps tools, practices and metricsEstablish strong working relationships across business and functional units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partnersCollaborate with groups to ensure to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.Provide support business as L3 and work with production support team.In this role, you will communicate and interact frequently with RBC partners and/or employees located across Canada and/or worldwide.What do you need to succceed?Must-haveDegree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of experience in Java backend development including strong multi-threading experience in Java.Solid hands-on experience in using Linux/ Unix system and scripting language.Experience in the development of scalable and resilient distributed systems.Understanding of database technologies such as MSSQL/ SybaseExperience in banking/financial industryNice-to-haveBasic Knowledge of distributed messaging platform such as MQ, Solace etcExperience with Continuous Integration tools – Helios, Jenkins, GitHub, Automated Testing tools.Experience in Risk Systems and / or Pricing Model Integration.Experience in working with large amounts of data.What’s in it for you?We thrive on the challenge to be our best, progressive thinking to keep growing, and working together to deliver trusted advice to help our clients thrive and communities prosper.
