The Senior Manager, AOC Operations in Montreal works closely and collaboratively with colleagues in Toronto to provide operational leadership to ensure that departmental and team goals and objectives are clearly defined, monitored and attained at both AOCs. This includes developing and/or recommending plans to meet business requirements, contributing to budget planning, and ensuring that staffing levels meet production requirements and employee skill sets match job requirements. The Senior Manager, AOC Operations, in collaboration with the Manager of Quality and Efficiency is responsible for the oversight of the Quality Management System (QMS), which includes the safekeeping of Bank and client assets, promoting a safe and inclusive work environment for the well-being of staff, ensuring the integrity of the AOC’s inventories and financial records, and maintaining the ISO 9001 certification.The Senior Manager, AOC Operations also acts as the Section Chief for the Local Incident Management Team (LIMT) as part of the Bank-wide Emergency Management Team (EMT). Finally, you support the Director, Quality & Data Management in ensuring that all operations are performed in an effective and timely manner.You will contribute to the development of the annual budget and business plans by providing detailed information about service levels, business volumes and resource requirements. You will ensure the completion of the annual work plan, performance appraisals and ententes, and create a healthy work environment for the unit while supporting professional development to help employees optimize their contribution. As a result of these planning efforts, you will establish a method of evaluating services delivered and communicate results to internal and external stakeholders. The ongoing communication with clients will play a key role in understanding your clients’ needs and effectively support the responses provided to inquiries and concerns raised.What you need to succeed

  • strong knowledge of the Currency Department’s business lines, processes and operations, as well as the Bank’s structure and the roles and responsibilities other departments
  • strong knowledge of the AOCs’ Quality Management System based on the ISO 9001:2015 standards

Your education and experience
This position requires a degree in business administration or a related field and a minimum of five years of management work experience with at least three years in relationship management and work experience in operations or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be consideredWhat you need to know

  • Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.
  • Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
  • Security level required: Be eligible to obtain Secret

  • Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $121,842 to $143,344 (job grade 18)
  • The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers performance pay for those who exceed expectations (15% of your base salary). Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
