The Technology & Operations Corporate Communications team promotes the people, projects and successes of RBC’s global tech organization and we have an exciting opportunity to join this team as Senior Manager, Corporate Communications for RBC Data & AI. In this role, you will develop and execute an internal and external communications strategy to support the SVP Data & AI and a global team of employees. You will oversee internal comms channels, assess external opportunities, work with our media relations team on opportunities and provide communications counsel to senior executives.What will you do?
- Assess external speaking and media opportunities for relevance and appropriateness, review speaker content where applicable and provide feedback
- Review and develop strategic media relations opportunities for spokespersons to deliver messages on key themes and priorities
- Draft and maintain data & AI key messages and FAQ for use in media interviews, external speaking opportunities etc.
- Help with strategic communications counsel to the SVP, Data & AI and develop leader messages, speaking remarks and briefing documents
- Develop a best-in-class approach to communications that is linked to our global technology strategy and aligned with RBC’s Corporate Communications standards
- Identify opportunities to amplify stories across multiple internal and RBC internal and external channels
- Engage and collaborate with key partners and stakeholders across the department and the organization to align activities and maximize benefits for the organization
What do you need to succeed?Must-have
- Undergraduate degree/post-graduate certificate or equivalent in communications, public relations, journalism, English or a related field
- 7+ years of communications experience with a strong knowledge of communications, media relations and social media principles and best practices
- Strong internal and external communications experience including event management, media relations, content creation, communications strategies and issues management
- Ability to meet consistently high standards of quality while handling a variety of projects and deadlines simultaneously
Nice-to-have
- Demonstrable understanding of technology topics and trends, specifically data and AI
- Experience and/or familiarity with financial services
