- Design and develop effective and useful dashboards for improved operations and oversight of the Internal Control Unit.
- Interact with Internal Control Team and data owners to analyze business needs and develop technical specification.
- Turning complex data into easy-to-understand visual insights that are aligned to business objectives.
- Develop a solution/framework for provisioning data for consumption by business users who are looking to utilize Power BI where user experience is simple and flexible.
- Support ad-hoc requests for visualization and dashboards, using regular Excel and Microsoft SQL Server data for the Internal Control Unit-International Banking.
- Help automate business-as-usual (BAU) processes using Excel VBA, Power BI, SharePoint Online.
- Design and document guidelines for visualization development.
- Manage and drive forward new initiatives aligned with the bank’s long-term data strategies.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong Knowledge on Power BI (Test, Clean, and Standardize Data to meet the business standards using execute SQL task, Conditional Split, Data Conversion, and Derived column in different environments).
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office: Excel (advanced, v-look ups, PivotTables, VBA).
- Knowledge on data management, data analysis and reporting, using scripts/tools such as Microsoft SQL Server. Python/R is a plus.
- Proficient at creating effective data visualizations to communicate data insights to business stakeholders & executives.
- Data analysis experience in Hadoop and Cloud platforms considered as assets.
- Strong knowledge on business lines, products & services and delivery channels in financial institutions.
- Understanding of Scotiabank’s culture.
- Strong communication (both verbal and written) and influence skills.
- Possess a strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
- A high degree of flexibility, strong organizational and time management skills are required.
- Strong project management skills considered a strong plus.
- Superior qualitative and quantitative research skills, which demonstrate attention to detail and competency a problem-solving and analysis.
- Fluent Spanish (both verbal and written) considered as asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering or Information Technology preferable.
- 7+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in financial institution.
- PMP, SQL or similar Certification considered a strong asset.
- Previous experience in data or information management and related capabilities considered as asset.
Work Arrangement:Sitting, comfortable position, frequent opportunity to move around, indoor office environment.
