The Senior Manager, Financial Analysis develops robust analysis of segment results within International Banking through in-depth financial and business assessment and establishment of networking relationship with counterparts in countries. They are also responsible to contribute to the overall success of the IB Financial Planning & Analysis in Canada ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Interact with countries’ finance teams and business segments in Head Office to create a robust network, provide sound financial advice and recommendations
  • Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
  • Review financial statements by business line and perform high level reasonability of results to provide financial information and recommendations to the different business lines within International Banking
  • Analyze variances in the financial results and identify profit improvement opportunities in each of the business lines.
  • Coordinate submission of deliverables with International Banking countries and IB Finance teams, as well as activities for quarter end process, forecasting and planning (Executive Reports, Plan, among others)
  • Analyze and review processes with the countries and business lines to achieve performance goals and provide recommendations to allow continuous improvement.
  • Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have experience with:

  • MBA is an asset or undergrad in Business, Economics, Statistics, Engineering
  • Previous experience in accounting, financial analysis and reports
  • Advanced excel and power point skills
