The team works globally, collaborating with farmers and partners to address climate change impacts and support economic prosperity, farm security, and women’s economic empowerment.
ResponsibilitiesThe main purpose of this role is to accelerate delivery of our agricultural climate strategy. The successful candidate will:
- Engage internal procurement and agronomist teams and external supplier and implementation teams to develop robust glidepaths and action plans that prioritize climate action- both reduction and adaptation
- Work internally & externally to develop solutions & partnerships to achieve our goals
- Build internal capability around climate change in agriculture
- Lead liaison with internal stakeholders and the PepsiCo GHG reporting team to ensure best in class reporting
- Lead the drive to primary for our agricultural footprint
- Develop robust, affordable and action biased agricultural MRV plan
Accountabilities:
- Support acceleration of GHG planning & costing: Engage with sector teams to leverage primary data based modeling and understanding of available GHG reduction levers to develop achievable and accurately costed Ag GHG glidepaths per sector.
- Serve as Subject Matter Expert and facilitator for accelerating delivery of ag GHG reductions and removals by working with sector teams and GSO Ag BELs to translate glidepaths into practical, realistic, action plans and provide ongoing SME support during execution.
- Lead engagement with GSO Ag BELs and sector teams to ensure integration of climate resilience practices into climate action plans to ensure PepsiCo has access to raw materials in the future under changing climate.
- Lead collecting primary-data based modeled or measured GHG baselines: Lead workstream to obtain primary project baseline data and modeled outputs for at least 80 % of our AG GHG footprint by March 2025 covering 20+ countries. Liaise with GSO Climate to ensure compliance with accounting requirements and inclusion in inventory. Work with GSO Strategy to include in 2025 glidepath approach. Ongoing work post 2025 to obtain and improve GHG data gathering on progress.
- Support finding and secure GHG co-funding: work with GSO Ag partnership lead, Business Engagement Leads as well as sector teams to ensure acquisition of landscape projects in key supply sheds to drive cost-efficient delivery of GHG glidepaths by leveraging co-funding from peers, government, and other sources of climate funding of at least $ 5-10 MM per year.
- Lead liaison with GSO climate reporting team to ensure baseline development, sampling approaches, data collection and reporting processes are in line with internal accounting & reporting guidelines and that annual reporting occurs seamlessly. Serve as key point of contact for GSO Climate reporting for all ag related workstreams.
- Represent PepsiCo externally in key climate industry platforms & collaborative roundtables (e.g. CFA) to ensure compliance with international standards like GHG P. These are usually attended by up to 100 participants from the global top 10 FMCG companies, NGOs, government agencies and farmer organizations.
- Lead the development of global removal glidepath for Ag. This includes definition of sampling methodologies and modelling / measurement requirements; the creation of a process to vet 3rd party schemes and solutions and to lead solution provider engagement (incl. satellite technology). Support BELs and sector teams in embedding removal glidepath into overall GHG action plans.
- Support PPGA teams in developing localized climate ag based policy priorities to help PepsiCo achieve our goals and address systemic barriers. Initial focus on Europe 27, UK and North America and India, Australia, South Africa and Mexico in a 2nd wave.
- Lead internal capability building workstream for ag-related climate questions to enable GSO BELs and sector teams to execute on climate goals and ensure PepsiCo stays abreast of scientific & technological developments in the space. Responsible for the delivery of trainings, workshops and dedicated SME support to up to 50 individuals across 30+ countries.
- Lead Liaison with GSO Climate Solutions team to develop global green fertilizer strategy & support GSO BELs and sector teams embed these solutions into glidepaths and action plans
- Lead Liaison with Global Agriculture team to embed climate into their global strategy and action plans for potatoes as they focus on yields, variety development, capability building, and innovative tech solutions.
Compensation & Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $114,700 – $192,100
- Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary
- Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 15% of annual salary paid out annually
- Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement

Qualifications
- 7-10 years work experience in NGO or corporate environment
- Master’s degree or equivalent in agriculture, climate science, environmental studies, or sustainability
- SME in agriculture related climate reduction / removal accounting & MRV
- Practical in-field experience of climate project development in agriculture supply chains
- Deep understanding of climate adaptation & resilience measures in agriculture
- SME in Carbon Markets & Funding mechanisms
- Highly analytical, motivated, decisive thought leader with excellent managerial skills
- Strong leadership and significant influence management skills
- Excellent written and oral communication/presentation skills to present facts and provide recommendations
- Outstanding project management skills
Differentiating Competencies:
- Outcome-focused and impact-driven with the ability to drive progress in global role in corporate environment
- Languages: Strong command of English; Spanish beneficial
- Willingness to travel up to 40% incl. remote areas
- Overseas working experience in diverse farming backgrounds, especially in APAC, LATAM and AMESA
