Overall Purpose of the RoleThe role is finance business partner for the SVP Digital and Client Experience, Global. The role is responsible for all accounting, financial planning and analysis for digital channels, including wholesale online partnerships, for the global Jimmy Choo business. The individual will be responsible for the operating performance of global digital, delivering budgets, forecasts, financial and commercial accounting, reporting and analysis for the channel. The role will work closely with all the JC regional finance teams to ensuring alignment of the accounting and forecasting for digital and client. The role is the finance lead for commercial discussions and commercial digital support across the global business covering all digital channels. The role is also part of the finance leadership team for the business and is jointly responsible for the culture and development of the Jimmy Choo Finance function globally.Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Set an agenda for digital and client finance which delivers accurate and timely accounting and reporting to the business, insightful analysis and commercial finance input aligned with the digital financial strategy of delivering sales and gross margin improvement, controlled expenditure and investment to deliver profit growth
- Deliver timely and accurate accounting and reporting for global digital and client business. Build a deep understanding of the accounting and commercial requirements for the digital and client business
- Leading all financial planning and reforecast cycles including annual budgets and reforecasts for the channel globally, ensuring that forecasts are robust and reflect the impact of commercial developments across the digital business, identifying and evaluating risks and opportunities, including actions to gap close where necessary. Ensure evaluation and analysis tools and techniques to enable this are fit for purpose and meet the needs of the business
- Lead the review and assessment of all commercial digital proposals, applications, new business opportunities for financial return and recommending go/no go, ensuring that the investment appraisal model is fit for purpose
- Lead the reporting, analysis and explanation of performance to the SVP Digital and Client, CFO, CEO, Regional Presidents and Capri, including variance analysis of performance, evaluation of digital and client investments, sales and gross margin and promotional activities. Conduct formal post implementation reviews of investments, pay for performance promotional investments and ensure learning is built into future appraisals for digital and client investments
- Highlight future performance concerns and opportunities from forward looking analysis and evaluate options and investments required to drive business harder or close gaps across the global business
- Develop and implement commercial propositions for digital expansion across major global wholesale partners
- Own the continuous development and improvement of the digital and client accounting and forecasting and planning system including the development and roll-out of best practice methodology
- Detailed understanding of what investments drive profitable sales and these are replicated/repeated and stop non or under-performing investments
- Work with the business leaders to bring CRM insights into the development of commercial propositions, OTB process, regional merchandising and Omni-channel trading
- Manage the channel financial operations to:
- Lead, manage and continuously improve financial reporting for the channel, ensuring that any reporting requirements are accurate and delivered on time, in full and Develop, continuously improve the financial control environment across the channel, ensuring group and local control compliance
- in compliance with both Group and any local country reporting requirements
- Continuously challenge and optimise cost, promotional spend and capital expenditure to ensure a return on investment
- Work with group finance and planning to improve the productivity of inventory in the warehouse and stores. Take an active role in the regional OTB submission, driving continuous improvements in stock turn and inventory age
- Recruit, lead and manage the digital and client finance team, developing the team to support the global business, the Jimmy Choo and Capri Group finance teams
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Formal professional accountancy qualification (ACA or international equivalent)
- Technical financial and retail background ideally in a digital environment
- SAP and Hyperion
