This role has one direct report, and gives the incumbent the opportunity to build on these strengths: cross-enterprise mindset, understanding of consumer behaviour and RBC risk appetite, and adaptability to the dynamic credit environment. This position specializes in insight-generation through in-depth portfolio analytics with a focus on Home Equity Financing.
Job Description
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
As part of the Group Risk Management (GRM) team, the Senior Manager, GRM (Credit Risk) will report to the Director, Portfolio Mgmt and Analytics
The ideal candidate will support credit analytics, portfolio monitoring and regulatory reporting for retail Home Equity Finance (HEF) portfolio (~$400 Billion) across the credit value chain. The incumbent identify trends, develop insights and form recommendations for profitability enhancement, credit performance and loss forecast related to HEF portfolio.

What will you do?
- Lead execution / review of all monitoring activities around HEF portfolio (~$400 Billion) across the entire credit value chain and identify trends that support recommendations on acquisition, performance and loss forecast.
- Develop and execute routines to measure and monitor effectiveness of policy and process changes to determine success and make adjustment recommendations where required.
- Lead / execute deep dive analytics and provide early warning indicators to facilitate recommendations for underwriting and account management changes.
- Lead / execute governance and control process of reporting activities.
- Develop dashboards that highlight portfolio performance across the credit value chain for increased awareness of senior leadership around the largest portfolio within Canadian banking balance sheet.
- Participate actively in the exchange of knowledge relating to products, data and analytical methodology
- Manage team workflow, resolve conflicting priorities and negotiate deliverables with minimum supervision
- Promote and share best practices with teammates
- Champion a positive, trusting and satisfying work climate
- Understand and share Personal Financing Products strategic priorities
- Maintain balanced view across reducing cost, increasing efficiency, driving profitability and enhancing client experience, while keeping within RBC risk appetite
- Support action plans through to implementation
- Support PM&CS initiatives, analytics, and adhoc requests as required
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
5+ years experience in Finance or related work experience with Advanced SQL and SAS or Programming experience
Degree in Economics, Statistics or other quantitative field of study
Ability to be effective and equally conversant in business and technical environment study
Proven Analytical Skills
Strong understanding of consumer behavior and credit risk
Proven ability to connect process, policy, system and data together and establish impact when any of the above changes
A Collaborative and supportive attitude
Ability to impact and influence is critical as this is a leadership position
Nice-to-have:
Knowledge of Teradata, Hadoop, DB2, Oracle
Familiarity with Tableau, R languages or Python
Working knowledge of consumer credit products Experience in retail credit risk
