What is the opportunity?
As Senior Manager, Projects & Strategic Initiatives, Global Mobility (GM-COE), you will lead cross-functional projects and planning across Operations and Advisory and support the Director, Global Mobility in the advancement and execution of RBC’s Global Mobility COE strategy. You will also be a contributing member to the GM-COE Senior Management Team and will be a key point of contact on project related to Total Rewards Delivery (TRD) as well as the COE’s appointed HR Risk contact.
Please note this is a 12-month contract opportunity, based in Toronto in-office for a minimum of 3 days/week.
What will you do?
- Project Manage GM COE projects (end-to-end planning, delivery, timelines, accountability tracking, etc.). Includes working with GM COE team members as well as external and internal partners to deliver on cross-functional projects.
- Collaborate with GM COE Leads to continuously improve / optimize existing programs to improve operational efficiencies, limit costs and enterprise risk while also optimizing the employee experience.
Project Management:
- GM COE designated project manager and primary point of contact to manage timelines, projects and see GM COE projects from planning stages through to completion.
- Develop, maintain or assist leads in reviewing, updating or communicating policies, communications, frameworks, administrative guides, etc.
- Manage work streams and present engagement deliverables, raising risks / issues and providing recommendations to minimize impact on timelines.
Process Improvements:
- Proactively identify areas within GM COE to focus efforts on program optimization that manage efficiencies, costs and/or reduce risk to the organization while also continuing to deliver an exceptional employee experience.
- Drive efficiency and effectiveness through continuous process review and improvement, automation and streamlining.
Reporting & Analytics:
- Works with leads and vendors to develop global metrics/key indicators for all components of Global Mobility inclusive of short-term business travel, international assignments, domestic relocations, etc
Enterprise Support:
- Leads Incident Management activities if/when an incident arises evaluates the nature and level of operational risks inherent in business activities
- Primary point of contact for enterprise stakeholders including, but not limited to, risk, IT, corporate tax, legal
- Other enterprise requirements, as needed
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- 5+ years project management or operations experience gained from a corporate environment
- Superior organizational and time management skills in order to manage multiple priorities, projects and initiatives; ability to problem solve and facilitate solutions with limited direction
- Proven relationship management and communication skills to effectively manage relationships across many levels of the organization and multiple functions (as applicable); ability to influence others without direct authority
- Strong analytical and decision making abilities
- Strong foundation in project and change management
- Intellectual curiosity, robust problem solving, and quantitative data analysis skills
- Interpersonal skills and ability to develop strong relationships at every level of the organization
- Demonstrated ability in project execution, prioritization and timeline management; self starter; driven to see projects through to completion
- Comfortable working in ambiguous situations and navigate through complex issues while also knowing how to navigate a large corporate environment
- Strong written and oral presentation skills and presence; strong technical ability with PowerPoint, Excel and Word
Nice-to-have
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience in a related discipline
- Experience leading projects, optimizing programs, enabling efficiencies for HR programs or processes is an asset
- Experience creating dashboards, data sets using MS Excel or other comparable technologies is an asset
- HR, Project Management, Total Rewards, or Canadian Employee Relocation Council/Worldwide ERC Accreditations
