Job DescriptionGeneral Summary:As a Senior Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of accurate and timely financial information to meet the needs of both internal and external reporting requirements. The role will partner with Accounting & Finance teams (General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Inventory, FP&A, Regional Finance) as well as key commercial stakeholders and third-party providers. You will also be involved in the review of proposed commercial contracts to understand and explain the accounting implications and ensure that operationally we can deliver to specific requirements.The role offers an exciting blend operational, technical, business partnering and financial compliance. As such the candidate will be extremely well organized and able to prioritize competing deadlines and commitments enabling them to manage the month and quarter end close activities for multiple markets in the region.Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ownership and responsibility of end-to-end revenue accounting monthly close for specified regions currently covering countries including but not limited to the Central and Eastern Europe region and distributer markets.
- Ensure compliance with SOX and regulatory processes in multiple jurisdictions, and support audit requests.
- Work closely with key internal business partners in Supply Chain and Commercial teams to support the management of our third-party logistics providers (3PL).
- Ensure transparency in the delivery of information to international, regional and corporate stakeholders inside and outside of finance / accounting.
- Ownership of key controls and ensure compliance with SOX requirements for region.
- Delivery of external and internal audit requests in an accurate and timely fashion.
Business Partnering
- Prepare detailed reporting as required to support business leaders and commercial organization.
- Present data and analysis to country teams and provide support for business reviews.
- Work closely with the Regional Finance teams to understand commercial agreements and ensure they are accounted for correctly
- Build a partnership of trust and open communication with your global stakeholders, especially the
- Group Revenue Accounting team in the US, who you should feel an integral part of, Supply Chain, and the International Finance teams.
Team Management
- Provide proactive leadership to drive the team, through strong coaching of direct report(s)
- Provide guidance and support as a senior member of the Revenue Accounting team.
Technical Accounting
- Develop, manage, implement and evolve policy, driven by business needs, hands on observations and analytical assessment.
- Monitor reimbursement agreements for appropriate revenue recognition criteria and continued compliance with key terms, including but not limited to supporting commercial team with external reporting requirements.
Continuous Improvement
- Pro-actively seek and implement improvement opportunities to the revenue accounting processes.
- Drive change across the team, bring experience of simplification and continuous improvement mindset.
- Participate and lead in the development of new systems, processes and automation including the operationalizing new disease areas.
- Participation in other ad-hoc accounting projects as required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proven communication, negotiation and influencing skills in working with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure
- Established record in managing multiple and competing priorities
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Extensive experience, or the equivalent combination of education.
- Experience working with Oracle / SAP
- Experience of US GAAP and local GAAP accounting
