Requisition ID: 203544Join a purpose driven winning team, committed to results, in an inclusive and high-performing culture.PurposeLeads and oversees the Strategy & Insight team in Global Compliance ensuring business strategies, plans and initiatives are executed / delivered in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.AccountabilitiesLeads strategic initiative planning, analysis, implementation, integration and measurement.Provides solutions/recommendations for complex business initiatives where analysis of situations requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives.Partners with Compliance managers to design short, medium and long-term goals and operational improvements.Leads and drives a customer focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.Develop and maintain reporting dashboards and high-impact presentations for Senior-level Executive audiences to influence action on strategic recommendations as well as the state of and adherence to established policies and processes at the enterprise level.Executes the operational/business strategy and related activities for Global Compliance.Translate strategic priorities into actionable game plans and ensure the right KPIs are in place to support the measurement of impact.Act as a relationship manager on assigned projects/programs, owning and enhancing strategic relationships with key stakeholders contributing to the reporting as well as recipients of the information (e.g. Finance, Compliance Business Line leads, etc.).Interface with Compliance Senior Management to discuss the analysis and results of their work.Conduct analysis required to inform strategic recommendations and consider the “big picture” in terms of the group as well as regulatory and enterprise-wide requirements/goals.Accelerate the execution, connectivity and impact of strategic initiatives. Work collaboratively with teams both within and outside Global Compliance to connect dots and integrate initiatives as needed.Break down strategic problems, analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations. Work with Global Compliance Governance and Strategy leadership and the Program Management Office to develop solutions to address opportunities and challenges.Creates an environment in which the team pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls within Global Compliance to meet applicable obligations with respect to operational risk, regulatory compliance risk, Anti-Money Laundering/Anti-Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) risk and conduct risk.Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviours; communicating vison/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.Education/ExperienceUniversity degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Mathematics is desirable5+ years of banking/financial services experience preferably within a business line, strategy, regulatory compliance, operations, technology, audit or risk management functionExperience managing a strategy (preferably regulatory compliance strategy), including providing information and innovative solutions to leadership that promote effective, efficient operations.Experience managing multiple senior stakeholders.Experience with managing large projects, processes integration, or process/control improvement opportunities.Experience with compliance measurement systems, compliance scorecards or other vehicles to report compliance results preferred.Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment and demonstrate empathy while influencing stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience in landing executive level communications, combining enterprise-wide objectives and regulatory requirements.Strong analytical skills and a focus on execution with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracyAn expert user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPointThrives in a fast-paced, challenging and dynamic business environmentIndependent self-starter who can manage multiple activities to aggressive deadlinesExperienced in developing reports for a Board of Director-level audienceExcellent project management, problem solving, analytical and decision-making skillsExperienced in data collection, querying and graphical reportingAble to visualize information and summarize in a clear and concise manner and adapt communication to Senior managementAble to clearly communicate and document with technical resources and business users to develop solutionsAdvanced SharePoint Site Management experience is a plusFluency in Spanish is an assetLocation(s): Canada : Ontario : TorontoScotiabank is a leading bank in the Americas.
