The Treasury Analytics Group is responsible for measurement and management of market risk (interest rate and foreign exchange) for the Bank’s retail portfolios. The team develops financial models and processes required for measuring, transfer pricing, hedging product profitability, and financial management reporting.

The Treasury Analytics Group is embarking on a brand-new initiative in TD’s Azure Cloud to build the next generation strategic platform for risk, valuations, and analytics to meet the growing and future needs of the department. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting edge technologies including Azure PaaS, Azure Databrick, Delta Lake, and NoSQL databases (HBase, Cosmos DB and MongoDB) to allow the business to gain advanced insight into their portfolios and valuation metrics.

Job Requirements

What can you bring to TD? Share your credentials, but your relevant experience and knowledge can be just as likely to get our attention. It helps if you have:

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or Undergraduate Degree, Technical Certificate, or equivalent experience

Experience leading designing, developing, and maintaining Java microservices and business facing GUI applications

Experience leading developing multi-threaded applications and developing micro services using modern technology stack

Hands on programming with Spring Boot, Spring Data (JPA, JDBC), Java 8, Spring Security (OAuth, LDAP)

Experience with Azure or GCP Cloud

Experience with PaaS applications, CosmosDB and Databricks

Experience with development tools and frameworks such as Maven, Jenkins, Gradle, Git, and Nexus

Good communicator with strong written and oral communication skills

Nice To Have:

Experience with large scale Big Data platforms on Hadoop or Cloud

Azure cloud certifications (or GCP certifications)

Experience with Azure Databricks, Azure CosmosDB, and Delta Lake

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience

About This Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Data Platform, working with Java and Azure Cloud, to join team of ambitious technology professionals as they deliver a wide range of applications and system solutions both on-prem and in Cloud. The successful candidate will work on modules which are part of microservices platform which provides solutions Treasury Analytics Group. This is an opportunity to work strategic technology solutions on the cutting edge.

We are looking for a hands-on Technical Manager for Hybrid on-perm and Cloud-based data platform with end-to-end accountability for delivery of robust data pipelines, microservices and developing business facing applications and tools. You’ll be exposed to stretch assignments as you take on large-scale, complex and/or enterprise-wide projects.

Meaningful work is fueled by meaningful performance and career development conversations with your manager. Here’s some of what you may be asked to perform:

Lead a small highly technical team

Proven experience as Data Engineering lead or Hands on Development Manager

Partner closely with subject matter experts in business teams and other development teams

Work with stakeholders to understand requirements, build back log and work on prioritization

Translate Strategy into detailed requirements and work on prototyping

Design, Develop, and maintain Applications using Java, Spring Boot, Spark and HBase

Experience with business facing applications leveraging Angular or React

Experience with Data Lake, Lake house data processing and techniques

Development experience with multi-cloud architecture preferred

Work on new capabilities and technologies to drive innovation

Lead, Inspire and Mentor junior team members
