Job description
The Coombe Hospital is a voluntary teaching hospital with national regional and area responsibilities for ensuring the optimal health of mothers, women and infants (up to 10,000 pregnant women per annum).
The Coombe is a national tertiary referral centre for specialised services including maternal and fetal medicine, neonatology, gynaecology and anaesthesia.
The hospital has a substantial academic portfolio in terms of multidisciplinary education, research and training.
We host two University Departments of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the National Cervical Screening Laboratory and the Hub Centre for continuing Midwifery education in the Greater Dublin area. The Research Laboratory in the Hospital campus is a leading European Centre for molecular biology research.

Senior Medical Scientist Quality
Permanent, Full-Time, 1.0 WTE
We are seeking applications from an enthusiastic Medical Scientist, who will participate in the delivery of a high quality
The Department of Pathology is committed to providing the best standard of care to the patients of the Coombe Hospital.
The purpose of this post is to participate in the delivery of a high-quality histology and laboratory service in co-operation with the Laboratory Manager, Chief Medical Scientists/Principal Biochemist, other Senior Medical Scientists, Medical Scientists, Laboratory Aides, Mortuary staff, clerical staff and the Pathology Department Clinical staff.
