EMEA Syndications Centre manages, leads, coordinates and develops structured lending business and primary/secondary syndication activities within the EMEA region. As a Senior Officer – M&A and Leveraged Finance, you will support mainly with M&A and Leveraged Finance deals. You will be working in a collaborative environment and on a variety of transactions focused on the PE large cap leverage market and acquisition financing. You will support to expand the M&A and Leveraged Finance business in the EMEA region. You will also provide guidance and assistance to the regional branches in transaction analysis, structuring and execution of M&A and Leveraged Finance deals. This is a full time permanent position.Key responsibilities

  • Assist in the structuring/execution of M&A and Leveraged Finance transactions within the EMEA region. Support to grow the loan book and build the Bank’s profile in this space
  • Analyse and produce high quality credit papers within tight deadlines, including but not limited to review of due diligence, in-depth analysis on key credit considerations and risks, financial modelling, sensitivity analysis, equity/debt valuation, debt structuring and pricing analysis
  • Assist with the negotiation and review of legal documentation including term sheets, facility agreements and intercreditors
  • Execute transactions in line with the Bank’s policy and procedures and ECB guidance to ensure the book is compliant with internal and external audits
  • Assist in marketing activities (Tier 1 sponsors and key book runners). Identify new business opportunities from existing and prospective clients
  • Assist in cross selling, with a particular focus on the development of deposit and treasury businesses
  • Provide M&A and Leveraged Finance technical assistance and expertise to the EMEA regional teams and other entities within the Bank of China Group
  • Coordinate and provide oversight to the branches to manage the M&A and Leveraged loan portfolio in line with the Bank’s policies
  • Undertake various administration duties such as data collection and reporting

Requirements

  • Degree educated in Finance, Economics, Accounting or other equivalent
  • Additional qualifications such as CFA and ACCA is desirable
  • Experience in PE backed transaction in the Leveraged Finance space is ideal
  • Sound background in credit analysis with solid modelling skills
  • Good understanding of Accounting, Financing, Corporate Finance, M&A and Leveraged Finance market
  • An ability to navigate around and understand a loan document, both bilateral and syndicated with an up-to-date understanding of LMA documentation
  • Committed to delivery of highest quality work product, with excellent attention to detail
