Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?The Oracle Database Administration team is responsible for leading in the effective and efficient use of Oracle database technology and to provide centralized DBA services for the creation and maintenance of enterprise databases. This role will coordinate, develop, lead, communicate and execute activities to ensure objectives are accomplished according on time.What will you do?Manage the implementation of multiple concurrent initiatives of varying complexity in a time efficient manner.Monitor and control activities according to plan.Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks.Analyze, mitigate and escalate where appropriate.Develop and execute on end-to-end change management plans and plan and execute all communication related to these.Collaborate and contribute on cross-functional enterprise initiatives and manage the effective implementation of assigned deliverables.Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners. Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.Create and maintain Oracle databases and database objects in Dev, Test & PROD environments.Based on the SLA, decide the backup/recovery strategy. Code, test and support the backup/recovery scripts.Perform database monitoring and tuning, including memory, CPU, locking, sorting, etc.Work with application team to perform SQL tuning.Handle database security requests in Dev, Test, PROD and DR environments.Perform space analysis on tablespaces. Perform tablespace expansion or reorg as required.Ensure Zabbix monitoring and Networker is setup properly.Perform required analysis to resolve complex technical issues/problems.Provide technical assistance to application team for utility usage and problem resolution.Provide consulting to developers on optimal usage of Oracle features and facilities.Build and support standby database using Oracle Data Guard.This position will require after hours support for application/database implementations and carry rotation of 24X7 production support pager.What do you need to succeed?Must have:7+ years of Oracle DB administration experience.In depth knowledge on database backup and recovery for OracleIn depth knowledge on database tuning and SQL tuning for OracleStrong knowledge on Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) and Data GuardUndergraduate degree coupled with change management experience in complex programs with high frequency of requests and multiple priorities.Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills.
