We are seeking a Sr. Payroll Specialist to join our Total Rewards Team! You’ll work a hybrid schedule with 1 day/week in our Chicago office (zip: 60638) for this full time role.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Assist in the development of NA payroll services including process design, internal team development, vendor management and system enhancements to ensure optimal performance in the delivery of payroll services
  • Oversee payroll operations, including ensuring accurate and efficient payroll processing such as taxes, garnishments, benefit deductions, health and welfare contributions, payroll accounting
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations and policies regarding payments of wages, tax withholding, garnishments, and employee elected deductions
  • Stay up-to-date with rules, regulations and any guidelines related to payroll and tax legislation
  • Accountable for maintaining controls and compliance of the overall payroll process
  • Assist in the development of process improvements to maintain the accuracy, quality, efficiency and overall effectiveness of the payroll process, and decrease risk of errors
  • Assist in the deployment of new tools, systems, processes to enhance the quality, efficiency and delivery of payroll processes
  • Support all timekeeping and ancillary areas
  • Project manage systems upgrades and enhancements as needed

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of experience working in a progressive payroll position within a corporate, or similar, environment
  • Solid knowledge of core, end-to-end payroll processes and procedures including controls
  • Prior Canada/US payroll processing experience a MUST
  • Prior experience with Dayforce a MUST
  • Prior experience with Workday a PLUS
  • Knowledge of related tax rules and regulations
  • Superior detail orientation: values accuracy/high standards around quality
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Zendesk a PLUS
  • Perform well in high-energy, dynamic and team-oriented environments
  • Effective organization and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and adhere to project timelines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a high degree of initiative, mature judgment and discretion
  • Strong sense of urgency, accountability and result oriented
  • Strong analytical skills

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • CEBS, CBP, or CPP accreditation is a plus
