About the team
Campus Management is responsible for planning, designing, developing, and managing the University’s campus and property portfolio to support teaching, research, and campus life. Campus Management delivers a range of university-wide services including strategic planning, property management, facilities operations, major projects and developments, sustainability, landscape, security, and transport.
About the opportunity
As the appointee you will, under broad direction, work on preventative and reactive maintenance work on all UWA sites, take in the provision of expert technical advice, planning and direction in determining work priorities. You will consult and advise staff on both planned and reactive maintenance, installation project works, high level supervision of outsourced plumbing service providers and ensuring all regulatory plumbing compliance is achieved. You will also ensure the safe and efficient running of the UWA plumbing infrastructure and significant legislative, regulatory, and statutory obligations for the university.
About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will demonstrate:
- Trade or technical plumbing qualifications.
- Plumbing license/Gas license type ‘G.’
- Substantial relevant maintenance experience at an appropriate level.
- High-level relevant supervisory experience with the ability to supervise outsourced contractors and their works.
- Demonstrated knowledge of current technical/trade regulations.
- Excellent organisational skills including the ability to plan own work schedule, set priorities and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with high level consultation skills.
- Ability to lead and manage teams.
- Ability to work independently, show initiative, problem solve and work productively as part of a team.
- Experience with researching and proposing new innovative methodologies to site maintenance requirements.
- Experience in the maintenance/restoration of buildings with historical significance is desirable.
