Job Description:The Role:A Lead project Manager is required within the IDAS IPT (Integrated Defensive Aids System, Integrated Project Team) to deliver multiple complex and interdependent projects, utilising strong internal and external Customer facing skills. The role will cover all aspects of Project Management including, Creation of bid proposals, Contract Status Reviews, Risk Management, Lifecycle Management and Financial Management. The project Manager will be responsible for Project execution and delivery, with particular emphasis on achieving Customer commitments: cross project and product alignment/development: dependency management: business winning: contract capture and decision making for the benefit of the Surveillance & Protection Technologies (S&PT) Sector.What will you do as the – IDAS Project Manager:As a Senior Project Manager, you will manage an IPT (Integrated Project Team) of talented cross-functional experts in a range of technical and non-technical disciplines to achieve all of the objectives required for the deliver of the projects to Schedule, cost and Quality.
- Project management of a series of inter-related and co-dependent projects
- Project management of IDAS product development on behalf of internal customers and stakeholders
- Schedule, cost and quality adherence
- Dependency identification and management
- Project Risk and Opportunity Management
- Management of internal and external stakeholders / customers
- Internal reporting to IDAS IPT Lead and/or S&PT VP
- Presentation at Sector and Line of Business project reviews to present project summary status
- Ensure adherence to Company’s Lifecycle Management (LCM), as appropriate and tailored to suit
- Liaison with Functional Groups to ensure projects are appropriately resourced to achieve successful execution
- Accountability for contract and project milestone delivery
- Support to Product development aligned with the Product Business Case
What we need from you:
- Demonstrated ability to manage multi-disciplined teams (Including, but not limited to – Engineering, Procurement, Quality, Planning, Manufacturing and Operations)
- Demonstrated experience of delivering complex design and development programmes in a military environment
- Demonstrated experience of delivering complex export projects
- Demonstrated ability to operate with multiple senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated strong Customer relationship skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in all aspects of project planning, scheduling, work package management, sub-contract management and cost control
- Degree qualified or equivalent
Intrinsic Factors
- This vacancy has a requirement for office based working (minimum of 2/3 days per week) and can incorporate home working. The role will be using display screen equipment, working full time hours which can often be in a demanding environment
- There will be the requirement to travel both in the UK and abroad which may mean overnight stays
- This role will often mean working in a challenging environment often working to a tight deadline
