Requirement: Senior Regional Strategist – Indo-Pacific

Job Description: The candidate will serve as a Senior Regional Strategist on a dynamic team supporting Department of Defense (DoD) priorities related to engagement with Indo-Pacific partner nations. This position will support a broad range of work related to coordinating, assisting with the implementation, and executing of regional cooperative initiatives and strategic initiatives. This position requires functional knowledge of DoD Policy and experience supporting DoD executive leadership. The Senior Regional Strategist will work closely with government and contractor analysts across the Department of Defense, including OSD-Policy, the Services, INDOPACM, and various DoD agencies, as well as the Interagency and Partner Nations.

Key Responsibilities:

Key responsibilities of the candidate will be (but aren’t limited to): * Senior-level advising on complex issues related to National Defense Priorities in the Indo Pacific

  • Managing and coordinating the Department’s cooperative activities with regional Allies and Partners
  • Shaping and implementing bilateral and multilateral priorities
  • Drafting and coordinating official correspondence and memos
  • Drafting and coordinating security cooperation initiative documents and required reports
  • Facilitating inter and intra-departmental coordination of regional activities
  • Tracking, coordination, and general management of engagements with Indo-Pacific countries of interest
  • Coordinating and reviewing technology competition priorities and initiatives
  • Managing administrative actions and collecting and consolidation of information activities.

The Candidate must be able to think strategically, act tactically, and display strong analytical and critical thinking skills. They must also build strong cross-group working relationships and demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail. The Candidate must be able to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities.

We are looking for candidates with….

Minimum Qualifications: * US Citizen

  • TOP SECRET clearance
  • 5+ years experience with Regional security issues or international SC
  • 5+ years of experience supporting Legislative, financial, and programmatic guidelines and policies that drive the U.S. Government’s campaigning and security cooperation efforts
  • 5+ years managing complex programs
  • Experience drafting professional documents, including white papers, briefings, reports
  • 5+ years coordinating, planning, and facilitating interagency-attended and international events
  • 5+ years of experience in the public sector, preferably in the DoD or DoS.
  • 5+ years of experience in DoD Policy formulation and implementation
  • 5+ years of experience in supporting executive DoD program management support
  • Experience navigating the senior DoD enterprise and coordinating within OSD-Policy and various other engagement stakeholders
  • Experience working with foreign dignitaries, preferably in the DoD or DoS
  • General literacy with the MS Office Suite applications of Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Graphics Software
  • Proven ability to prepare executive-level correspondence
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow security protocols
  • Bachelor’s (4-year) degree from an accredited institution in international affairs, political science, national security, resource management or finance, or other field directly related to the work.

Highly Desired Qualifications: * TOP SECRET clearance w/SCI eligibility preferred

  • 5+ years of experience in the public sector, preferably in the DoD or DoS. Experience supporting INDOPACOM is also preferred.
  • Master’s Degree in international affairs, political science, national security, resource management or finance preferred.

Salary Range: $120-$150k/yr
