Due to its fantastic location its easy commutable from central London via the overground and buses but also from greater London using the A10.Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume the role of Nurse in Charge when necessary.
  • Act as bed Manager and or Site Co-ordinator out of hours.
  • Provide support and guidance to new, junior, or agency staff to ensure adherence to care standards.
  • Prioritise nursing duties and delegate appropriately and effectively within the shift co-ordination Framework, working as nurse in charge as required, ensuring as far as reasonably practicable a safe environment.
  • Collaborate with patients and their carer/families to assess, strategize, and administer nursing care, respecting patient preferences and serving as the designated nurse.
  • Diligently observe and interact with patients to gauge their requirements and monitor their progress accurately.
  • Review and update nursing care plans regularly.
  • Assess and address alterations in patient condition and needs promptly.
  • Handle suggestions and grievances from patients, families, or caregivers proactively and efficiently.
  • Contribute to a cohesive team approach to patient care alongside all members of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Participate in routine clinical and administrative meetings, as well as other gatherings as necessary.
  • Pursue ongoing professional development in line with preceptorship and revalidation requirements.
  • Foster positive professional relationships with patients, colleagues, and visitors by promptly and courteously addressing requests, inquiries, and feedback.
  • Support the creation and maintenance of an environment conducive to meeting the needs of patients, their relatives, and caregivers.
  • Engage in clinical supervision and reflective practice sessions at least monthly.
  • Serve as a preceptor to newly qualified staff members.
  • Operate in compliance with safeguarding policies for both adults and children.
  • Ensure adherence to the Mental Health Act, Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty Standards.
  • Comply with Medicines Management policies consistently.
  • Collective responsibility for the care and appropriate use of resources on the ward. Use resources in a cost efficient way. .

Candidate Specification:

  • Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) or Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse (RNLD)
  • active NMC Registration and completed preceptorship programme.
  • Able to evidence a positive attitude and commitment to change, improvement and quality.
  • Ability to develop and use flexible and innovative approaches to practise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Shift Pattern:

  • Mixture of day and night shifts
  • 7.30am-8pm or 7.30pm-8am
  • 2 days working then 2 off.
  • 1.45 hours break.
