Job SummaryJob DescriptionWhat is the Opportunity?Establish and enforce software engineering best practices, including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets. Develop automation and operational improvements/solutions, actively participate in deploying software applications and automation tools, and IT infrastructure. Review, verify, and validate the software code developed for quality and performance. Participate in change Management, Incident and problem Management for the platform and/or any dependent components which the product engineering teams rely on for their work. Work closely with software development teams to enhance system performance, reliability, and incident response. Apply experience, skills, and practices to perform a variety of assignments.What will you do?Develop and implement automation solutions to improve system reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.Design, develop, and maintain Kibana dashboards based on data stored in Elasticsearch, providing actionable insights.Build solutions for collecting, aggregating, and analyzing application metrics to enhance observability and support data-driven decision-making.Improve system monitoring, alerting, and logging to proactively detect and mitigate issues.Work closely with software development teams to enhance system performance, reliability, and incident response.Lead incident response and post-mortem analysis, driving continuous improvements in reliability and system resilience.Establish and enforce software engineering best practices, including SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets.Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of operational excellence.What do you need to succeed?Must Haves:Bachelor of Computer Science, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.Strong programming/scripting skills (Python, Bash, etc.) for automation and tooling development.Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch, Kibana, and related observability tools.Expertise in monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog).Deep knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).Strong understanding of Linux systems, networking, and distributed systems.Experience with incident management, root cause analysis, and performance tuning.Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive and automation-first mindset.RBC is committed to supporting flexible work arrangements when and where available.
