This is where you can do your best work.Join us at the intersection of saving and sustaining lives— where your purpose accelerates our mission.Job Description – Senior Systems Engineering Manager – Infusion Software R&DYour Role at BaxterThis is where your work saves lives.The Manager, Systems Software Engineering, will be responsible for systems related software level R&D deliverables related to specific products or projects within the Novum IQ Infusion Platform software for the Medical Devices and Therapies business segment.This individual will lead a team of 10-15 systems & software engineers in Raleigh, NC.What you’ll be doing:Lead and manage a team of system engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of software for Infusion pump platform.Manage multiple on-going projects within Infusion systemsRecruit, mentor, and lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.Oversee the development and optimization of embedded and digital products within our infusion pump platform to ensure that software and systems meet stringent regulatory and safety standards for medical devices.Lead software requirements and risk management development for software projects.Support organizational alignment in deriving software requirements from clinical and user needs.Lead planning of software release projects and collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to establish project goals, timelines, and resource requirements.Actively champion an Agile development culture within the team, advocating for the benefits of Agile methodologies, and promoting the adoption and integration of Agile practices across the software engineering team.Represent the systems software engineering team in meetings, presentations, and other communications with internal and external stakeholders.Identify and mitigate technical risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.Effectively coach, mentor, and motivate others for outstanding performance.Take total ownership of team’s deliverables and ensure on time delivery with high quality. Drive functional excellence initiatives in the team.Drive agility, process simplification in the organization and demonstrate sense of urgency. Champion continuous improvement activities by initiating process and product quality improvement initiatives.Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encourage the adoption of new tools and methodologies, and promote best practices to improve the quality of software and efficiency of development processes.What you’ll bring:Experience managing technical teams in the development of medical device software.Demonstrated expertise in systems engineering for the development of medical devices.Experience working with development tools for requirements management, issue management tracking such as Jira and Doors.Display general understanding of theories/practices of a variety of disciplines. A solid technical understanding of the principles and procedures of software engineering (e.g., SDLC, IEC Agile).Experience developing and delivering software solutions to market (in medical industry a plus)Capable of analyzing and solving complex problems through innovative thought and experience, as well as project management tools.Ability to build & sustain relationships with various stakeholders.Ability to handle competing priorities and maintain high energy and drive team engagement.Bachelor’s degree in relevant field with 8+ years related experience or master’s degree with Masters degree preferred.Baxter is committed to supporting the needs for flexibility in the workplace. The estimated base salary for this position is $152,000.00 to $209,000.00 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors.
