Were looking for a Senior Specialist Clinical Oncology and Haematology Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy Team at the London Bridge Hospital, currently rated “Outstanding by the CQC.London Bridge Hospital is one of the UK’s largest private healthcare hospitals specialising in complex and acute care.   • To be the senior specialist pharmacist in Oncology/Haematology.
  • To participate and assist the Lead Pharmacist in the daily running of all areas of the pharmacy department, including the aseptic unit, dispensary, outpatients, inpatients, clinical verification of SACT, e-Prescribing, protocol governance and clinical audit.
  • To ensure all services provided encompass the principles of best practice, are in accordance with national guidelines and, as far as possible, reflect the needs of the prescribers.
  • To provide a safe and patient-focused clinical pharmacy service to all patients, staff and practitioners. This includes undertaking medicines reconciliation, assessing pharmaceutical needs, assessing and facilitating the use of Patients Own Drugs, ensuring appropriate drug supply, reporting any clinical incidents as necessary and developing strategies to improve safe medicine use and management.
  • To participate in discharge planning, patient counselling, patient medication reviews and provision of medicines information to all patients within London Bridge Hospital.
  • To be responsible for the clinical verification of electronic orders of parenteral and oral SACT alongside the resident medical officer team and nurses adopting a multidisciplinary approach in a safe, accurate and effective manner.
  • To assist with managing and leading a team within Pharmacy to ensure that objectives are met to ensure service delivery.
  • To raise the profile of the pharmacy department both within and outside the company by forging links where appropriate with external groups/institutions and if required participate in appropriate internal/corporate forums.
  • To deputise for the Lead Pharmacist Oncology/Haematology Services when required.
  • To assist in providing an outpatient pharmacy and dispensary service and participate in the responsible pharmacist duties/rota, ensuring safe and effective running of the pharmacy in relation to the sale and supply of medicines.
