Key responsibilities include managing the end-to-end salary and staff costs planning, analysis, and reporting processes, leading the continuous evolvement and improvement of related policies, processes, and procedures, and working in close partnership and collaboration with stakeholder throughout HR and FIN, in providing insightful information relevant to optimizing the use of resources to meet Bank objectives. This role also contributes to the formulation of the Bank’s strategic plan, enabling effectivecorporate planning.In addition, you will:
- design and maintain financial models in support of budgeting and forecasting, integrating business requirements into these models.
- design, prepare and oversee in-depth analysis, identify trends, patterns of staff costs, including salaries, benefits, and related expenses, to provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership highlighting risks/opportunities.
- develop and maintain dashboards and reports to monitor staff costs for senior leadership; present findings and recommendations in a clear and concise manner.
- collaborate with HR and Financial Business Partners to ensure completeness and accuracy of monthly and quarterly analysis, annual budgets/forecasts and alignment with strategic objectives.
- liaise with HR and FIN stakeholders to establish, maintain and improve relevant policies, processes, and procedures.
- build and cultivate strong partnerships with senior management, HR and FIN stakeholders.
- oversee and prepare monthly expense and accruals, and other journal entries pertaining to salary and benefit costs.
- in partnership with HR, lead and support the departmental planning and forecasting approach and tool for positions, FTEs, and salaries.
- lead continuous improvement initiatives/ ad hoc projects as required.

As the Senior Specialist, you provide the highest standards of accuracy and precision, are able to use advanced analytics techniques, are highly organized and resourceful, and have strong interpersonal skills and excellent business partnering skills.You have an excellent ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, including communicating financial and organizational objectives as well as conveying complex and sensitive information in an appropriate manner. You are adaptable, flexible, and innovative, open to new challenges and willing to think outside the box and have exceptional work ethic, team mindset, positive attitude, and self-starter.Nice-to-have
- experience working within an integrated SAP enterprise resource planning system and other budget software (i.e., Adaptive Insights)
- advanced financial modelling
- work experience in both the public and private sectors
Your education and experience
The position requires a university degree in a related field with a recognized Canadian (or reciprocal) accounting designation (CPA, CA/CPA, CMA/CPA, CGA) and a minimum of ten years of relevant experience in different accounting or financial roles, preferably FP&A. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.What you need to know
- Language requirement: English and French essential (bilingual) with a minimum starting level of functional (level 4) in second official language. Training may be provided to help reach the required level of fully functional (level 5) in second official language.
- Priority will be given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents

- Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $121,842 to $143,344 (job grade 18)
- The Bank offers an incentive for successfully meeting expectations at 7 to 10% of your base salary. The Bank offers additional performance pay (5%) for those who exceed expectations. Exceptional performers who far exceed expectations may be eligible for higher performance pay.
