Minimum Position Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 12 years of experience or a master’s degree and 10 years of experience in a relevant discipline from an accredited institution of higher education and significant progressive leadership experience in communications, marketing, media relations, public relations, events, or related field within a complex institution. Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in promoting a climate that facilitates the free and respectful exchange of ideas.
 
Candidates with a master’s degree are highly preferred.

Demonstrated experience in effective brand development and market positioning for a large, complex organization
Understanding of the scope and strategic impact of technology used in marketing and social media branding and promotions
Experience strategically deploying marketing and communication tools to disseminate messages across different platforms and to diverse audiences

Job Duties

Duties & Responsibilities Responsible for overseeing the areas of Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Graphic Design & Multimedia, and University Events. Reports to the President and is responsible for ensuring that all marketing and communications activities support the university’s established brand and strategic plan. Develops and plans the university’s marketing strategy and the development of all marketing and advertising materials, including working with all university departments, colleges, and schools in the preparation of marketing strategies, campaigns, and materials.
Duties & Responsibilities Coordinates and oversees communication efforts to include delivery of web content, as well as publications, public relations, social media, and special events for the University.
Duties & Responsibilities Provides counsel to senior-level administrators regarding marketing and communications strategies. Works collaboratively with cross-campus teams to accomplish university-wide objectives. Provides leadership and direction for professional staff.
Duties & Responsibilities Manages outside vendor relationships, including consultants, freelancers, printers and other providers of marketing and communications services. Serves as a central point of contact with the university’s agency-of-record to recommend marketing strategies and advertising placements.
Duties & Responsibilities Oversees the coordination and execution of events and maintains the university events calendar.
Duties & Responsibilities Manages the overall budgets for all marketing and communications efforts.
Duties & Responsibilities Develops policies and procedures related to marketing and communications activities of the university.
