There are over 86,000 children and young people in Newham and we want each of them to have the same life chances as young people in other parts of London.This post is directly employed by the London Borough of Newham, who was the first London borough to offer a fully integrated 0-19 health and social care service after we assumed direct responsibility for providing School Nursing services, Health Visiting and Family Nurse Partnership in 2017. Therefore, our CYPS directorate will be delivering the 0-19 Healthy Child programme through the Childrens Health 0-19 Service.Newham 0-19 health service have a continual commitment, working towards improving the lives of Children and Young People in the Borough. Please see below links for various health education films the service has produced with the support, and showcasing our Super Star Service users.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxBNTudWyCwhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RK85GXs3qVoThe Children’s Health 0-19 service had their CQC inspection in 2021 and rated Good in all areas.The JobChildren’s Health 0-19 Service are recruiting more Clinical Support Workers (sessional) to work as part of the wider Single Point of Access (SPoA) admin team that supports our clinical workers: Health Visitors, School Nurses and Nursery Nurses. The post holder will be a member of the wider Children’s Health 0-19 team, within CYPS.This is an administrative role and you will be expected to work in various locations across the Borough in clinics and at other London Borough of Newham settings.The post holder will work in conjunction with the Registered Nursing workforce and other skills mix members across the service. He/she will contribute to the assessment of health needs and delivery of appropriate services to meet needs of both the individual and the wider Community within a defined area of the London Borough of Newham.The post holder will undertake duties as delegated by the Registered Nurse and Nursery Nurses in the community teams.The post holder will be required to undertake the key functions within CHIS Team including liaison with local and national maternity and child health departments to enable smooth exchange of patient identifiable clinical data and information on a daily basis to facilitate clinical service delivery to local children and families living in Newham.(1) United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (1990)About YouThe candidate must/ will:

  • Have Maths and English GCSE C or equivalent
  • Have ability to move between sites working across health and social care as required by the needs of the service and development programme
  • Have experience of dealing face to face, and on the phone, with various clients, clinical staff and others.
  • Be IT literate e.g. using clinical systems, word processing, email and internet use.
