The Department of Psychology at the University of Prince Edward Island has an opening for a sessional instructor during the forthcoming Summer 2025 semester. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.Please note: the course offered below will be taught in person, unless otherwise specified as an online course.PSY 6101- Human Devel & PersonalityStudents develop an appreciation of foundational theory and contemporary research in human development and personality, evaluated within the contexts of cultural and individual diversities, and in relation to competent clinical practice. Students assess major theories and models of development and of personality from a life-span perspective, examining typical and atypical growth across development, while considering the contribution of this body of knowledge to understanding mental health and effectively treating clinical disorders. We explore what is known, and what is yet unknown, about the applicability of key concepts and findings across cultural and individual diversities. Students reflect upon the implications of theory and research in development and personality for their own development as clinicians, and for the experiences of the clients they will serve.Qualifications:The successful applicant should hold a doctoral degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology.Preference will be given to the qualified candidates with seniority on the UPEI Sessional Roster and full-time and term contract Faculty Members of the Academic unit.Application Instructions:Applicants should submit a letter of application, an updated C.V., and the names of three referees to:Dr. Annabel J Cohen, Professor and Chair, Department of Psychology
