Site Engineering Manager
We are recruiting for an experienced Site Engineering Manager to join the Senior Leadership Team, at our Runcorn manufacturing site, in Cheshire which manufactures the largest number of kitchen cabinets in the UK and has undergone significant automation investment over the last five years.
You will be instrumental in the development and implementation of operational strategies to improve the capability and performance of the facilities, production processes, product QCDSP (Quality Cost Delivery, Health and Safety and People) as well as technical and environmental legislative compliance.

Reporting to the Group Head of Maintenance you will lead a team of sixty-five with five direct reports.
What you will be doing?
- Strategic management, development and implementation of facility projects and plans. As per the group wide Engineering Maintenance Strategy and associated standards and policies.
- Implement effective engineering & maintenance standards adhering to technical, legislative and group standards.
- Custodian of manufacturing maintenance standards and develop, implement, and maintain associated standards within the business.
- Leading and developing the site engineering team instilling a high-performance culture, energy and diligence whilst managing operations budget.
- Lead and drive continuous improvement, optimising current processes via best practice and new technologies cultivating a progressive working environment.
- Efficient and effective resource allocation across site.
- Financial management of site engineering function with responsibility for capital expenditure for restoration and upgrade.
- Comply with SHE management systems, satisfying requirements for legal compliance.
- Liaison with external best practice and legislative bodies/authorities to ensure compliance. While adhering to Group Wide policy alignment.
What we are looking for:
- A degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent Health and Safety qualification
- Strong decision maker who has successfully driven and influenced engineering teams through ambition and diligence in a manufacturing environment.
- Able to demonstrate driving continuous improvement and implementing lean tools.
- A grounding in 5S and Asset care to focus improvement on autonomous maintenance and planned maintenance.
- The ability to lead TPM for the site with focus on providing excellent levels of engineering,
- A proven leader with the ability to performance manage and develop their people.
- Able to demonstrate experience in a similar role within a manufacturing/engineering environment, leading large teams.
- Experience of technical and environmental legislation and processes that ensure compliance.
- Proven operational management experience and change management capability.
