Job SummaryJob DescriptionWHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?The RBC Investor Services IT Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team is working closely with enterprise, infrastructure, and application teams to increase the reliability, resiliency and stability of our application portfolio through implementation of SRE best practices includes Application Performance Management, Log Monitoring and Automation. In this role, you will be responsible to assist application teams in increasing their SRE maturity in order to reduce manual effort, increase operational visibility and reduce incident mean-time-to-resolution. The role will configure, develop, test, assist in implementation and provide training to ensure operational teams can operate efficiently.WHAT WILL YOU DO?Work with central development teams to understand SRE product offerings, determining their applicability in our application environmentWork with application teams to implement existing SRE products including automation, application performance management and log monitoring.Work with application teams to identify other areas of automationDevelop in-house automations that reduce toil, increase visibility or increase mean-time-to-resolutionWHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?Must have:Undergraduate degree coupled with hands-on development experience in Python and/or Java.Knowledge of monitoring tools like Splunk, Dynatrace etcKnowledge of the Ansible Automation platformDemonstrated ability in written and oral communication skillsA strong understanding of technology and/or financial services industry.Nice-to-have:Prior experience as a Technical Systems Analyst.RBC is committed to supporting flexible work arrangements when and where available.
