Compassionate SLD teaching assistant, enhancing educational outcomes for all studentsSLD Teaching AssistantLocation: WalsallDuration: Full time, on goingSalary: £95 – £105 per dayThe School/role:We are looking for a full time TA to start working at a fantastic special needs school in Walsall long-term supply basis. This role requires at least two years experience working with a range of special needs such as ASD, ADHD, MLD, SLD in a school or healthcare environment. You will be working quite closely with SLD so strong knowledge is required. Key Duties:
- Constant Supervision: Provide vigilant supervision to ensure the safety of the child and others, particularly in managing disruptive behaviour.
- Building Trusting Relationships: Foster a trusting relationship with the student to create a supportive learning environment.
- Sensory Room Assistance: Facilitate the student’s engagement in the sensory room to enhance their learning experience.
- Outdoor Activities: Organise and facilitate opportunities for the student to run around outside each day, promoting physical activity and well-being.

- Qualified Teaching Assistant OR Relevant SEN Background
- PECS and Makaton training/experience
- PMLD, SLD, MLD, ASD and Complex needs experience
- Level 1 safeguarding certificate
- Recent school based references
- Valid Photo ID – Driving Licence or passport
- Full DBS – on the update service
