Job Title: Software Developer Degree Apprentice

Start Date: October 2024

Locations: Multiple Locations: Bracknell, Manchester, Warrington, Solihull (Office based 2/3 days) 1 day virtual study.

As a Degree Apprentice Fujitsu you will be allocated to one of our Early Careers Role streams. Each role stream will provide you with the specific training, network and support you need to get off to a flying start in your careers at Fujitsu.

To compliment the role stream specific training, you will also undertake a modular development programme. This covers key skills such as self-awareness, leadership, business awareness and business knowledge. Each module will provide you the opportunity to take charge of your own development and allow you to expand your network with the full Early Careers cohort across Europe.

Fujitsu are running an exciting apprenticeship programme where you will be enrolled on a four year Digital & Technology Solutions L6 Degree Apprenticeship.

Our degree apprenticeship roles provide an excellent chance to work your way in an area that is fundamental to the future growth of our business.

80% of your time will be spent on the job, with 20% dedicated to studying with one of our University partners towards a debt-free degree!

You will be aligned to our Software Development role stream which will enable you to develop your skills in Software Development. Throughout your apprenticeship programme you will:

  • Gain certified administration and implementation qualifications
  • Attend university studies virtually one day a week and earn while you learn
  • Experience training and development in ‘soft’ skills and ‘technical’ skills
  • Learn to be part of a high-performing team

We have a wide range of ongoing project work, covering several sectors. As part of your apprenticeship, you will be part of a team with Developers, Consultants, Architects and Engagement mangers and will participate in the development of services, applications and modules that fulfil customer expectations from both a technical and business benefit perspective.

This work experience will be supported by extensive training, starting with fundamentals, and progressing to certified administration and implementation qualifications.

Fujitsu has Software Developers across a variety of business areas, if successful you would be selected to working in any of the following areas:

  • UK&I Digital Delivery Centre, named DDaC – Digital, Data & Cloud
  • Microsoft Business Apps Unit

Entry Requirements:

To be accepted onto the Degree Apprenticeship you must hold one of the following acceptable qualifications including:

  • Two A levels in one or more similar subject.*
  • Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject.
  • International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in a similar subject.
  • BTEC Extended Diploma in a similar subject.
  • A work experience route (2-3 years) in a similar subject-related role.

‘Similar subject’ relates to areas directly relevant to or commensurate with ‘Digital and Technology Solutions’. Typically this would be areas such as but not limited to Level 3 digital apprenticeships, A-Level/BTEC Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Software Engineering, etc.

Recruitment process

After your initial application you will be asked to complete an online assessment, please allow up to 60 minutes to complete. Please answer all questions honestly, we want to see the authentic you, to understand your strengths and how you could contribute as an Early Career Professional at Fujitsu. The next stage of the process is a virtual assessment centre and interview.

Our Degree Apprenticeship is only open to candidates with right to work in the UK.
