The renewables industry is experiencing rapid growth, so are we. Emtec Energy is expanding its team and is on the lookout for a Solar / Civils Project Manager to join our team. This role presents an ideal chance to enhance your skills and advance your career within a prominent renewable technologies installation company.
The Role
As a key member of our national team, you will be responsible for project management tasks related to ground mount solar farm projects, encompassing civil, mechanical, and electrical works. Your role involves ensuring all work and procedures are being undertaken efficiently, in compliance with company operating procedures and delivering top notch customer service, and meeting all safety, quality and cost control standards.
Initially your base will be a large standalone site near Chester during 2024, followed by projects predominantly in Northern England. However, your projects could be located anywhere in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver projects through all phases: Liaising with sub-contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers.
- Maximise productivity, profitability and satisfaction through effective resource planning and use.
- Oversee and monitor project progress via ongoing site visits.
- Lead and manage teams, contractors, and suppliers.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety, quality, and environmental regulations.
- Manage budgets and forecast costs.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
- Work closely with clients to understand their requirements and ensure their satisfaction with delivery outcomes.
- Stay informed about industry regulations and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and devise solutions to problems that arise during the project lifecycle.
What you will need to succeed
- Previous experience as a Project Manager preferably with a background in Electrical installations and Civils
- Proficiency in managing project timelines, budgets, resource, and risks.
- People management skills with a passion for leading and mentoring others.
- Customer focused mindset with excellent communication skills
- Outstanding planning and organisational skills
- Results orientated and good problem solver.
- Negotiation and influencing skills.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.
- Desirable qualifications include a recognised trade apprenticeship and SMSTS Qualification
