Position: Special Needs Teaching Assistant (Global Delay Support) Location: Bristol Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday Start Date: April An exceptional opportunity has arisen for a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a reputable school in Bristol. We are seeking a skilled professional to provide tailored support to a child with global delay, ensuring their individual needs are met within a school-based setting. This full-time position offers a rewarding experience working closely with the student to enhance their development and overall well-being. Key Responsibilities: – Provide one-to-one support to a child with global delay, fostering a nurturing and inclusive environment for their educational growth. – Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to implement individualized learning plans and strategies. – Support the student’s cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development, adapting teaching methods to their unique needs. – Assist with daily activities, including personal care, mobility, and communication support. – Foster positive relationships with the student, their families, and school staff, ensuring effective communication and collaboration. Requirements: – Experience working with children with global delay or special educational needs is highly desirable. – A patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to create a safe and supportive environment for the student. – Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with the student, their families, and the wider school community. – Knowledge of individualised teaching strategies and interventions to support cognitive, physical, and social-emotional development. – Relevant qualifications or training in special education or SEN support would be advantageous.
