We are in the process of recruiting a Sr. Accountant to join our client’s team. The selected candidate will be instrumental in supporting their finance operations, with a particular emphasis on the effective use of the ERP system. The role is pivotal within the organization and will involve tasks such as managing customer accounts, resolving inquiries, and ensuring smooth financial operations.Responsibilities:

  • Managing the process for closing accounts at the end of each month
  • Supervising Accounts Payable and Receivables to ensure accuracy and efficiency
  • Coordinating biweekly payroll, including liaising with the HR department and reviewing data entries
  • Assisting in the management of inventory, performing analysis on current inventory levels and pricing
  • Preparing and reviewing bank account reconciliations, and generating reports on the organization’s cash balances and/or working capital requirements
  • Conducting financial analysis and compiling financial data to aid in the evaluation of business decisions
  • Reconciling HST, WSIB returns, and overseeing remittances
  • Assisting with the preparation of internal monthly and ad-hoc reporting and projections for management
  • Assisting with the preparation of reporting for our parent company and generating financial statements as required
  • Supporting external auditors by gathering data and providing audit support as required
  • Ensuring all work performed complies with relevant organizational, provincial, and federal regulations, codes, and specifications.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably as a Sr. Accountant within a manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency in account reconciliation processes and techniques
  • Experience in balance sheet reconciliation is mandatory
  • Familiarity with bank reconciliations and related procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of managing and maintaining the general ledger
  • Ability to accurately prepare and manage journal entries
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, particularly for financial analysis purposes
  • Proven experience in managing month end close activities effectively
