About this Role
You’ll be at the helm of a specialized team of Data Scientists and Data Modelling professionals. Your thought leadership will be a fundamental part of driving changes and improvement in business practices through advanced analytics. As a People Manager, you’ll coach your team’s development and oversee the creation of statistical models, data mining and analytic solutions, as well as complex statistical models that learn from and scale to petabytes of data. Your team will help transform TD’s business insights enterprise wide. Your own leadership inspires leadership in others, providing them with the tools they need to own their space, collaborate with others and make TD the better bank.
We are looking for someone capable of leading and providing direction to a team of highly specialized individuals. This may include Data Scientists and Data Modelling professionals. Your team’s role is to parse a vast amount of past and present data and help shape complex business insights and processes enterprise-wide.
As a Senior Manager Advanced Analytics, you will:
- Lead team of Data Scientists and Data Modelling professionals and provide day to day direction as needed
- May also be accountable to lead team in developing powerful business insights from social marketing and industrial data using advanced machine learning techniques
- Act as People Manager and is responsible for ongoing coaching, mentoring and development, setting objectives, assessing performance
- Work closely with business owners to find opportunities and serve as an ambassador for data science
- Lead and oversee the design and delivery of enterprise analytic solutions for customers
- Work in a highly interactive environment with Big Data developers, and analytical experts
- Oversee and lead a large and/or highly complex and diverse reporting function for an area of significant risk, complexity or scope
- Strategic partner to leadership team on the management of the portfolio and financials, with deep industry, external / internal, enterprise knowledge, recognizing and anticipating emerging trends and; identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities with other business management / enterprise areas
- Facilitate key strategic discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audience (output may include strategic roadmap and/or deliverables/ frameworks/ short to long term goals etc.)
- Set operational team direction and collaborate to execute on common goals
- Focus on longer-range planning for functional area (e.g. 12 months or greater)
