You’ll love it here too.The opportunityCWB’s Credit Risk Management team is currently on the search for an accomplished business-minded leader who is also a top-tier credit risk professional! This Senior AVP, Credit Risk Management, will be responsible for optimally leading the credit risk management function and the day-to-day credit risk mitigation through delegated lending limits as well as overall portfolio management of CWB’s diversified commercial portfolio.This key leadership position will provide oversight and mentoring across CWB’s lending verticals, influencing the teams overall risk appetite. Credit Adjudication. Diversified Lending. Team Leadership.Act as one of the key individuals responsible within the second line of defense framework for prudent underwriting and adjudication through measuring, monitoring and reporting CWB‘s risk exposures.Ensure business opportunities are improved through awareness of our strategic direction and within organization risk appetite.Provide a senior level understanding into our AIRB Model methodology and output sufficient to provide direction to CWB end users.Evaluate and process credit applications from team members, commercial lending units and decision applications within pre-determined lending limits or provide recommendations to Senior Management.Act as CRM’s industry specialist and participate, as a second-line perspective, for periodic “deep dives” on specific credit risk topics.Collaborate and influence on key strategic priorities both related to the CRM team and beyond.Work optimally in cross-functional teams and has proven track record to collaborate to impact results.Ensure adequate and ongoing training to team members through specific mentoring, as well as ongoing review of the raised credit recommendations.Ensure strong attention to detail in all credit submissions and data input is accurate.Who we’re looking for & what you’ve doneEducation & ExperienceUndergraduate degree or equivalent experience in Commerce, Economics, Finance or Accounting fieldsMBA, Professional Accounting designation or CFAFifteen (15) years proven experience in corporate and large mid-market commercial lending including client facing positions and syndications.Five (5) years leadership experience in leading impactful teams.Five (5) years in an adjudication role, with assigned limitStrong background in and understanding of the AIRB approach to lending with preferable experience in an AIRB environment.Skills & ProficienciesStrong leadership skills, with ability to mentor individuals and lead an impactful team.Strong understanding and direct experience in origination / adjudicationAbility to present within both large and small groups of senior executives.Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to work through sophisticated situations and yield solutions.Ability to effectively challenge partners while maintaining strong working relationships.Strong organizational awareness, risk analytical skills, negotiation and skillsAbility to establish effective relationships with various partners.Why work with us?Your success is our obsession!
