Robert Half is currently working with one of our esteemed clients to find a skilled Senior Financial Analyst. Our client is a dynamic organization known for its commitment to excellence and innovation in the finance industry. As a Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and analysis in accordance with accounting standards. You will be responsible for leading journal entry processing tasks, validating financial transactions, and preparing accounting schedules and documentation. This role also involves supporting month-end processes, budgeting, forecasting, and providing analytical support to operational departments.Key Responsibilities:
– Lead journal entry processing tasks and validate financial transactions according to accounting standards.
– Prepare accounting schedules, notes, and relevant documentation for all financial transactions.
– Maintain a variety of financial statement accounts (FSA) continuity schedules, including detailed analysis for monthly variances.
– Prepare and analyze operating accounts on a monthly basis, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, accruals, and master lead sheets.
– Support annual audit(s) and provide recommendations for remedial actions as needed.
– Assist with monthly HST filings and related workbooks and schedules.
– Produce clear, well-structured documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
– Prepare ad hoc reports as requested.Month-End Responsibilities:
– Provide senior-level analysis of the financial status of the organization related to operating accounts.
– Identify and analyze variances, trends, and current/projected financial issues.
– Provide business advice, recommendations, and solutions to corporate and departmental stakeholders.Budgeting Responsibilities:
– Coordinate the annual budget process, including timeline determination and preparation of templates.
– Prepare forecasting models, coordinate inputs, and analyze results.
– Provide actionable and analytical support to operational departments.
– Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts.– Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field.
– CPA designation or working towards designation preferred.
– 5+ years of experience in financial analysis or related field.
– Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
– Strong understanding of accounting principles and standards (GAAP/IFRS).
– Experience with month-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
– Ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and present findings to management in a clear and concise manner.
– Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
