Typically manages 2 or more specialized departments comprised of supervisors, managers, professionals, and/or large numbers of operational support employees.Job DescriptionWhat is the opportunity?Senior Manager, Disability Claims Consultants is a key Service and Operations leadership role. The Claims Consultant, Group and Individual Disability Claims, Life and Health Operations is partnered with the Management team and provides coaching and mentoring of highly skilled Disability Claims Consultants responsible for mentoring and coaching Claims Analysts and Specialists. Priorities include facilitating the delivery of a differentiated client experience while developing fully trained claims management capability. Work closely with key partners to enable trainers and insurance professionals to execute, thereby ensuring success.What will you do?

  • Support Life & Health Claims recruiting, onboarding and ongoing development of Life & Health Claims professionals
  • Ensure that consultants are successfully delivering on-boarding, training, coaching and messaging and delivering great client service
  • Serving as a lead subject matter expert and is responsible for coaching and mentoring on claim management strategies, processes and procedures
  • Support the creation of content for PAC and CAE training programs, job aids, scripting, and training programs from onboarding to ongoing training (for LHW), including content curation, approval, and quality. Partner with the Sales Communications and Sales Enablement teams who are responsible for the delivery methods/mediums of training materials and professionalization of the training materials
  • Lead and participate in projects and initiatives within and across business units. Collaborate with partners to innovate or establish existing or new processes by providing input and subject matter expertise on ongoing system development projects and transformational initiatives by providing viable solutions/ suggestions

What will you need to succeed?

  • Post-Secondary education
  • 10 years+ experience in Life and Disability claims and minimum of one industry designation (e.g. ALHC, FLMI, HIAA)
  • Thorough knowledge of industry claims practices, procedures and philosophy
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills
  • Teamwork, including well developed collaborative, persuasive and change enablement skills
  • Ability to lead the implementation and execution of some of the strategic employee development initiatives
