Sr. Oracle DBALoc: Toronto, GTA (2 days in office)Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain Oracle database systems to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security.

• Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software and related products.

• Monitor and optimize database performance, including tuning SQL queries, monitoring system health, and implementing necessary adjustments.

• Develop and maintain database backup and recovery strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.

• Implement and maintain database security policies and procedures to safeguard sensitive information.

• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner, including diagnosing and resolving database errors and performance bottlenecks.

• Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schema and SQL queries.

• Manage database users, roles, and privileges to ensure appropriate access controls.

• Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices.

• Provide technical support and guidance to stakeholders, including developers, system administrators, and end-users.

• Stay current with Oracle database technologies and best practices to recommend and implement improvements.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as an Oracle Database Administrator (DBA).

• Proficiency in Oracle database administration, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting.

• Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL programming languages, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, and packages. – must have

• Experience managing Oracle database performance and tuning SQL queries for optimal efficiency.

• Experience with database backup and recovery strategies, including Oracle Data Guard and RMAN.

• Familiarity with database security concepts and best practices.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multiple stakeholders.

• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

• Oracle DBA certification(s) preferred.
